Love, Truth, Trust and Practical Faith, a flagship educational programme for clergy, people of faith, and spiritual seekers.
The Laws of God is a serious educational programme rooted in the conviction that divine law begins with love, and that love, truthfully understood, orders all of life and community.
Developed by Old Manor Farm Preservation Trust in collaboration with True Nature Limited, the course draws on two foundational texts: The Revision of God by Beverly Tasker, and The Laws of God by True Nature Limited and OMFPT. Together these texts make the case for a renewed engagement with faith, intellectually honest, spiritually alive, and practically transformative.
The programme offers participants a structured journey through love, truth, trust, integrity, discernment, and religious harmony, framed for mixed-faith, interdenominational, and ecumenical audiences. It is suitable for residential retreat delivery at Old Manor Farm and for delivery in wider educational and ecclesiastical settings.
The course is drawn from two texts to which the Old Manor Farm Preservation Trust holds the rights, each making a distinctive and complementary contribution to the programme's theological and practical foundations.
By Beverly Tasker, Honorary Friend of the Old Manor Farm Preservation Trust. This work re-examines inherited religious language and calls for a renewed engagement with faith that is intellectually credible, truthful, and spiritually alive. It critiques hollow institutionalism and draws on reason, revelation, and science to articulate a faith worth living.
By True Nature Limited and the Old Manor Farm Preservation Trust. This text articulates the fundamental principles of divine law, centred on love as the ordering principle of all life, with truth, trust, authenticity, and practical spirituality flowing from it. The foundational claim: "Love worketh no ill to his neighbour."
The programme moves progressively from the foundational principle of love through discernment, trust, and integrity, to practical religious harmony and community life.
Establishes love as the foundational divine law, not merely as sentiment but as a practical, ordering principle for life and community. Draws on The Laws of God and its central claim, with historical framing from William Penn's "governed by God."
Explores why truth must support love, and why religious and moral claims should be tested against reality rather than assumption. Participants examine how discernment strengthens faith, reduces confusion, and supports religious harmony.
Develops the idea that trust is not blind faith, but courageous commitment to what is true. Practical exercises on risk, conscience, and moral clarity, especially how trust can be sustained in difficult circumstances and through spiritual formation.
Translates the principle of authenticity, being "trusting, trustworthy, relaxed, unlimited and enthused", into pastoral and educational language: integrity, interior peace, openness, and spiritual vitality. Emphasises authenticity over performance.
Draws on The Revision of God in its call for a renewed religion that is intellectually credible and spiritually alive. Key themes: revelation, tradition, reason, science, and the role of imagination in faith. An important bridge for clergy and educators.
Focuses on religious harmony, community service, and the public good. Participants consider how love, truth, and trust can reduce conflict, improve dialogue, and support local and global peacebuilding. Suited to interfaith and ecumenical delivery.
The course is designed to be financially accessible while supporting the Trust's charitable mission. A layered participation model allows individuals, donors, and institutions to engage at the level that suits them.
